Ilustration Supposing Books Last Hit (Hitman #1)
NikolaiI have been a contract killer since I was a boy. For years I savored the fear caused by my name, the trembling at the sight of my tattoos. The stars on my knees, the marks on my fingers, the dagger in my neck, all bespoke of danger. If you saw my eyes, it was the last vision you’d have. I have ever been the hunter, never the prey. With her, I am the mark and I am ready to lie down and let her capture me. Opening my small scarred heart to her brings out my enemies. I will carry out one last hit, but if they hurt her, I will bring the world down around their ears.
Daisy
I've been sheltered from the outside world all my life. Home-schooled and farm-raised, I’m so naive that my best friend calls me Pollyanna. I like to believe the best in people. Nikolai is part of this new life, and he’s terrifying to me. Not because his eyes are cold or my friend warns me away from him, but because he’s the only man that has ever seen the real me beneath the awkwardness. With him, my heart is at risk... and also, my life.

Finishing this book was a constant struggle for me. Last Hit was disappointing in terms of the pacing, plot, characters and romance. There is so much potential in it but the execution of the story didn't grabbed my attention.* The Pacing - Slow pacing to the point of boredom. I put it down several times and considered not finishing it. I skimmed pages because it was excruciatingly boring and wordy. My pacing starts to pick up around 50%-60%.* Plot - Uneventful, confusing and lacked the thrill.DNF at pg. 163Awkward, stilted, lots of little misunderstandings...The hero...How can you manage to fuck up a russian hero with a sexy accent, even sexier body and scarred past? Make him this boring puppy eyed wussy? Seems impossible, yeah? Well then, congratulate the author for doing the impossible!Pure, little self-conscious angel of a heroine *makes me want to kill bunnies*. Incessant whining! Oh, the whining is strong in this one!
Wow! This book was amazing. The suspense was incredible, it made me so nervous! It was also seriously sexy - Daisy and Nikolai were so hot together! Those particular scenes were so well written. Most surprisingly though, was that this book was actually funny at times. I wasn't expecting that but some of the stuff that goes through Nikolai's head really made me laugh. How bizarre considering he's a hitman. I LOVED this book. It's going on my favorites list. **as a side note - I alternated between
4 Made For Each Other Stars * * * *This has the interesting combination of a Russian Hitman and cloistered 21 year old virgin. Both are oddly perfect for each other and end up finding their truth together during a kidnapping, revenge killings and ultimately love.Took a bit to understand how this was to come together... but once I saw where it was all going and how...it was entertaining... and some moments were very sensual...First part of the series with this ending well yet open for more to
Last Hit (Hitman #1) by Jessica Clare , Jen Frederick 3.5 StarsMy favorite type of reads are romance/suspense/ mystery/dark with some scorching hot sex scenes. Straight up romance/angst/sweet are not my thing! I was waiting for this book to go live, I was interested right from the start. The cover hooked me (seriously, dont lie, it hooked many of us) and I just needed to know what type of book it was. I dont like to read blurbs etc. because I love going into books blind. That being said I liked
4.5 Stars! There is just something exciting about a man that is pretty much cold and unemotional who meets the one woman who makes him feel.Nikolai is a hitman. He was brought in by the Bratva and trained at a very young age to become a killer. The first time he hinted at wanting affection at the age of 9, the Bratva made him kill the mother figure he gravitated too. The second time he showed emotion by letting abused boys take their revenge on the mark he was sent to kill, the Bratva kicks him
"if you do not want me to break your wrist with one squeeze of my hand, you will do two things immediately, First you will remove your hand from my woman's purse. Second, you will remove your hand from my shirt. It's attached to the body that belongs to the owner of the purse." *sigh*WOW, WOW, WOW I love this book, 5 stars is nowhere near enough stars for this book. If you times them by 100 it still wouldn't be enough. it blew me away and made me want to weep when I finished it. yes it really
