A curious little book. I couldn't quite decide if it was aimed at young adults, adults with a sense of humour, or both of those groups and everything besides? Does it even matter? Probably not. I found the writing style to be essentially an amalgam of Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, and Monty Python, with a sprinkling of spooky-but-not-really-horror seasoning added to the mix here and there. Posted at at Shelf Inflicted I read The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy nearly 30 years ago and dont remember finding it all that funny. I also never cared for Monty Python. Maybe its the British humor I dont get, but Fawlty Towers cracks me up, no matter how many times I see each episode. Humor is such a personal thing, and sometimes I just dont see humor in things others find funny. And other times I laugh hysterically at things people dont understand. I enjoyed this very much but let me say straight away it is nothing like any of his other books.
