Landscape designer, Beth King survived an abusive husband and built a new life for herself with the help of Master Nolan, the strongest, most protective man she has ever known. She loves him with all her heart, but the one thing he wants, she can’t give him. To her grief, the damage from her abusive first marriage means she can’t bear him children.

As Beth and Nolan change their plans and pursue adoption, they're already imagining a baby girl in the nursery. But when two boys from the local domestic violence shelter see their mother taken to the hospital, they call Beth in a panic. Agreeing to care for them temporarily, Beth soon falls in love with the two adorable boys.

Now Master Nolan has a new problem. How can he protect the children when their drug-addicted mother is released—and how the hell can he keep his sweet submissive’s heart from being broken when they leave?

Commentary Containing Books Protecting His Own (Masters of the Shadowlands #11)
Beth and Nolan where two characters I loved the most; starting when Cherise originally wrote about them in Breaking Free.  I was thrilled that they were getting a second story. I think out of all of the characters, Beth has stuck with me the most.  She was so brave, and to now see her a few years later, living a life we werent sure she would ever have, is AMAZING.  Yet, at the same time old scars still tend to rear their ugly head; Nolan being the perfect Dom for Beth, knows how to work things

LOVED IT!I am an exclusive menage romances reviewer but I have a couple of authors that no matter the genre they write, I know without a single doubt in my mind that I will like it, if not love it.Protecting His Own goes to the LOVE IT category. no question asked. It is a beautiful family story with BDSM lifestyle. This couple is not new in the series and I guess it is their happily ever after story. You will fall in love with the kids. And I promise you that you will use tissues a couple of

Beff and Nolanman are the best!

PerfectionA perfect addition to the Shadowlands series. Heartbreakingly heartwarming. From beginning to end I loved this story. Master Nolan is so good at not letting problems build and getting everything out in the open. Beth tries to internalize but realizes when she needs help. Sometimes revisiting couples can change how a reader feels about them but I feel they have grown but stayed the same. A great glimpse at the past couples and how everyone is there to help one another it's nice to read.

Cherise Sinclair didnt say much about who the next couple would be in this book so I was a little surprised when I learned it was going to be about a couple weve already met before. We first meet Beth and Master Nolan in BREAKING FREE, which happens to be one of my favorite books in the series. If youve read that book when you know that Beths sadistic ex-husband abused her to the point that she can no longer bear children. Its a crushing reality for Beth and one that makes her feel insecure

I adore the Shadowland series, but I don't feel that this is as sharp as some of the others. Granted to a certain extent the tension is gone because Beth and Nolan are an established couple now, but the real problem is it was too sweet.BDSM Ms. Sinclair! Yes, there are some club scenes, but the primary focus is on Beth's need/desire for children and how two moppets end up fulfilling that need for Beth and Nolan. It was just a little too schmaltzy and sweet for me. Okay, and not enough Master Z.

Well, I can honestly say I'm glad I bought this book. Because the last few books weren't as great as the first ones, I was hesitant. Books 1-7 were just plain awesome and unique. 8 and 9 just seemedboring. They didn't feel like new storylines. Sure, Sally had two Doms topping her, which was pretty cool at first. However, Galen and Vance's dialogue just seemed cheesy. Like beyond cheesy. Calling each other "bro" just annoyed me, and the way they interacted with Sally just made me roll my eyes.
