Representaion In Pursuance Of Books Betrayed by Love (Western Lovers: Ranch Rogues, #1)

Careful What You Wish For...

Cattle rancher Jacob Cade rarely denied himself anything - except for Kate Walker. Kate was his younger sister's best friend, and therefore off-limits. But when Kate returns to Jacob's ranch for his sister's wedding, he sees Kate with new eyes. She is older and living in the city; surely she has become much more worldly. The time for restraint is over.

Kate is naive about a lot of things, but she knows what Jacob is offering, and it isn't forever. And yet she's been in love with him for as long as she can remember. If a couple of nights in his arms are all she'll ever have of him, aren't a few precious memories better than none at all? Even if that surrender breaks her heart…....(185 pages)

So many things about the first story irked me:1) How Jacob had known Kate for years, and yet refused to believe her about the pool incident. 2) How Jacob treated Kate after their first night ~together~.3) How Jacob's father, Hank, and the housekeeper, Janet, kept trying to pressure Kate into accepting Jacob's proposal. 4) As mentioned in another review, Jacob's inability to acknowledge his love for Kate until the *very* end. Honestly, his entire lack of emotional intelligence annoyed me. There

When I reached the end of this book, I immediately said, "You have GOT to be kidding me!"This book is NOT 512 pages as it was originally listed here on Goodreads (I have since updated that for this version and the descriptions!) It's 185 - and the paperback has a 'bonus book' by another author which is actually slightly longer. This was something I didn't realize going in, as I don't seek out stories shorter than 200 pages unless they're in-between novellas in an established trilogy, or written

Nice ReadA nice entertaining romantic read. Some mystery, suspense and a whole lot of laughter. This is one of those stories that will hold your interest from the very beginning to the end.

Heroine is a newspaper reporter in Chicago. DP spends a lot of page time on her co-workers and her work ethic and how well-liked she is. She is a great heroine with two strikes against her: her mother left when she was a baby and she was raised along with her brother by her unstable minister father. Daddy dearest died from a seizure while he was whipping her in public for smiling at a boy. To say she has hang ups about sex is an understatement. The second strike: she imprinted on her bffs uncle,

I read this years ago. My DP re-reads rarely stand the test of time. =(

Another DP book for me in my quest to figure out why I like her books as much as I do. Was this a typical Diana Palmer romance? Yes. Did I like it? Yes. Amy I any closer to finding out why I liked this book as much as her others? Maybe. This one is certainly one of her older novels. Her more recent works are more involved, have better flow and are better reads. You can certainly see how far she has come as an author in comparing this book to say, Heartbreaker (which I enjoyed on audio as well as
