A powerful real life story. I applaud John on his courage to write about what happened to him. This is a very emotional read for me because I consider this author a friend and it breaks my heart at the abuse he has suffered. I recommend this book to everyone and it is my wish that his courage will help another.

wow.. this book was totally unexpected. it was amazing and sad all at one time... the things the guy went through and the way it was written were awesome. i loved how i felt like i was there with the characters as i was reading and feeling what they felt. very heartbreaking and heart warming story. so glad i read it



It's really refreshing to read a memoir this honest from a male's point of view. In this story his sex doesn't matter because you see HIM in all his rawness, insecurities and sufferings. It doesn't take long to get absorbed into this story. It also doesn't take long to have the feeling that you know this guy. This guy could be your friend. He is familiar and you can't help being drawn to him. There are so many moments that I feel so emotional about as he is spilling his guts out on a silver

Ten stars if I could. This is no doubt the most powerful book I've ever read. It is also the most heart-breaking and the most joyous. In 232 pages, Mr. Augustine details life suffering at the hands of emotional and mental abuse and how all so often, the victim learns to believe the abuser is correct in their rants. Society tells us that these victims are women, but the author clearly shows that men all too often are the ones suffering. In eloquent prose, we learn how one far too easily slips

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book.. reading about male abuse opened my eyes.. this book had me crying.. John is a amazing author..THIS IS A MUST READ
